Covering a total length of 28.35 kilometers, the first phase of the city’s line two is scheduled to put into use before National Day.
The project will have 22 stops, connecting the airport, bus center, railway station, and Jinzhou, Haishu, Jiangbei and Zhenhai districts; the three business centers Tianyi Square, Chenghuang Temple and Raffles City will also have stops.
According to a subway official, the subway cars' interiors were designed and assembled by a local Ningbo enterprise. Nearly 100 Ningbo enterprises and firms were involved with the construction of the city’s subway and won bids in various aspects including design, reconnaissance, construction, supervision and scientific research, totaling more than seven billion yuan.
Ningbo Metro Line 2 Railway Station stop features a modern design with an antique vibe. The stop has six entrances and exits: Exit A to Wanghu Square, Exit B to Rong’an Shijia, Exit C to South Bus Station, Exit D to Women's and Children's Hospital.
Jiang Bao, architect of line 2, said that the general design philosophy integrated the elements of “water” and “road,” which can be seen in decorations at stops like the Railway Station, Gulou, and Ningbo University.
It is learnt that a press conference will be held in mid-to-late September to announce the official operation date of line 2.
