The app is the brainchild of photographer Michael Edwards, who produced the Me in My Place series of photoshoots for Esquire magazine. The subcription app is the same idea, but with normal women in their homes

'Don't make me choose which shoot has been my favorite, that just isn't fair,' says Edwards

Photographer Michael Edwards has done Me in My Place photoshoots with celebrities in Esquire, but his hit app offers the same intimate photos but with normal (if beautiful) women.

'As a portrait photographer, I love that moment when people reveal a bit of themselves,' says Edwards. 'On every shoot for meinmyplace, there is a moment when the women reveal something about themselves that is so engaging.'

The web app is available via iPhone and Android smartphones, and paid for via a subscription.

The Me in My Place app is a web app - ie you visit via a mobile browser, rather than downloading software, and access via a subscription.

The hit app was dreamt up by Edwards after the success of the Me in My Place site.

'My wife and I were out to dinner with a friend here in New York one night last Fall,' says Edwards. 'I started chatting with the man to my left, as one does, and he just happened to be the creative director at one of the top app building shops in the city.

'After a bit of push and pull, we arrived at our starting point... All of the women from MIMP in the palm of your hands, easy to look through, and quite discreet on the ‘ol phone. Not a bad place to start.'

Edwards hopes to introduce new features to focus on the site's cult favourite women.

'Having them in their undies is a bit of a ploy to make you look, but I think there is another layer to the images, or at least I hope so,' he told Mail Online today.
