Xiangshan Port Bridge is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of this year.

The evening of 11th July witnessed the closure of the Xiangshan Port Bridge, which is the critical process of the whole project.

The Xiangshan Port Bridge is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of this year, and it will greatly shorten the distance from downtown Ningbo to Xiangshan Dancheng to 35 minutes instead of 2 hours by car.

The bridge has a main span of 688 meters with towers as high as 226.5 meters, both ranking first among all the cable-stayed bridges in Zhejiang.

The long span bridge will provide for road transport connection to a port area capable of handling 50,000 ton cargo vessels -- which is 20,000 tons more than Hangzhou Bay Cross Sea Bridge.
